Wyandotte to Hold Earth Day Celebration

Wyandotte Municipal Services is offering free light bulbs, free home energy audits and coupons worth $15.

Wyandotte Municipal Services is holding an Earth Day Celebration from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 22.

Participants can enjoy freebies like light-emitting diode (LED) and compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) light bulbs, recycling coupons worth $15 and free home energy audits. The items will be given away on the first floor of the new City Hall, 3200 Biddle.

Couons can be redeemed when residents bring an old dehumidifier or window airconditioner to the Wyandotte Department of Public Services, 4201 13th Street.

There will also be a mobile energy lab and conservation unit at the American Legion on Van Alstyne Street open for public viewing from 4 to 7 p.m. April 24 and from 9 to 11 a.m. April 25. There will be many hands-on displays showcasing energy efficiency and renewable energy.
