Downtown Bike Rental Program Could Come to Wyandotte

City considers proposal for one-year trial period.

Wyandotte said at its Nov.25 council meeting that it would consider a proposal for a downtown-area bike rental stand on a trial basis, a newspaper reported.

The issue is expected to go back to the council within 90 days, The News-Herald said Wednesday.

Authority Director Natalie Rankine, City Engineer Mark Kowalewski and Police Chief Daniel Grant will determine a location for the bike rack and “prepare a proposed amendment to the zoning ordinance if needed, depending on the location," the paper said.

Zagster Bike Rental Program recently proposed placing it in front of Tongue’s Coffee on Biddle Avenue.

Where would you like to see it?

Whatever money is involved with funding this I feel would be better spent on keeping the police and fire departments fully staffed.
