Happy Ending for Adorable Pooch with Head Stuck in Jar (Video)

A dog rescuers have named Olive was spooked as she roamed around an abandoned home for days with her head stuck in a jar, but now she's ready for adoption through the Michigan Humane Society.

Olive, the pooch that promoted legions of pet lovers to wring their hands over her predicament when her head became stuck in a jar, is no longer feeling bottled up.

The once imperiled pup is doing just fine now that the jar has been removed, and is ready for her happy ending, a forever home, WDIV, Channel 4, reports.

The Michigan Humane Society was tipped off that Olive had been living in the home for several days with her head stuck in the plastic jar, Michigan Humane Society rescue driver Chris Ouwerkerk said in a video on the animal welfare group’s YouTube channel.

She could easily have suffocated or starved to death, he said.

Tthe dog was in a state of panic when Ouwerkerk arrived and ran when he approached her. After some time, he found her hiding in the attic area of the rundown property. When he finally coaxed her outside, she became more agitated and was breathing heavily.

“You could hear the plastic jug,” he said, explaining the dog’s labored breathing “was sucking the sides in,” causing a loud noise when it the jar popped out, further distressing the dog.

He tried to pull the jar off, but it wouldn’t budge. Rather than cut it off and risk injuring the dog or himself with a knife if she jerked, he loaded her up and took her to the Humane Society’s Detroit facilities. Lubricant was applied and the jar slipped off.

She immediately showed her appreciation and bonded with Ouwerkerk. “it doesn’t take her long to warm up,” he said.
