'Tis the Season for a Wyandotte Tree Lighting, Christmas Parade

The tree lighting is 6 p.m. Friday and the parade is 10 a.m. Saturday.

If you’re not yet in the festive mood, give it a couple days and then visit downtown Wyandotte.

The city’s annual tree lighting ceremony is set for 6 p.m. Friday at Sycamore and Biddle. Vocal groups from Roosevelt High School will be on hand to sing before the switch is flipped to light up downtown Wyandotte.

The next morning, the 70th annual Christmas Parade will stroll down Biddle Avenue.

The parade begins at 10 a.m. Saturday near Ford and lasts about an hour as it travels down Biddle to Eureka.

More than 100 displays are expected, including marching bands, clowns and floats. And, of course, Santa will be at the end of the parade, ready to put a smile on the faces of the good boys and girls.
