Inside Wyandotte's Municipal Power Plant

I had the pleasure of wandering around Wyandotte's municipal power plant today to capture some great images.

I had the pleasure of wandering around The Wyandotte City Municipal Power Plant today. Captured some great images and really enjoyed my time there. Here is a video I put together to share with everyone. I always wondered what it was like in there, if you did as well, hit play and enjoy!

This ridiculous monstrosity taking up valuable riverfront real-estate and polluting the area next to a HOSPITAL, of all places. Wyandotte's independent municiple power and water puts all city consumers at a disadvantage; it is not regulated by the state, the management is notoriously inept, and--despite it being a 'non-profit'--the rates are not competitive with DTE. http://wyandotte.patch.com/articles/wyandotte-residents-soon-to-pay-more-for-electricity

We can always count on you for having something of quality to say, Jon. Just checking out the other comments you've made is a real eye opener. Why are you such an unhappy person?

My appreciation for this place is it's photographic value. That is the reason for this post. I had a chance to explore someplace that I have always wanted to shoot, and figured I would share it for people who may find the subject matter pleasing as well. I enjoy industrial areas of all kinds, I find myself in them quite often, either still running or abandoned. I enjoy the spaces and appreciate the lighting and the photographic opportunities they allow. This Blog is about an appreciation of photography and the areas in which I find myself. It is not a political forum. It is not an opinion column. I will post photographs and video slideshows of those photographs for your approval. That's what this is. Please keep that in mind Gentlemen. Please keep your critique and focus on the photographs. Thank you.
