In high school I started off designing shirt in my marketing class at Roosevelt, I quickly fell in love with the idea of designing apparel and seeing others wearing it.  This love for designing apparel started in eleventh grade in Mrs.Cuminskeys class, I would spend most of my free time designing away but with no idea of how to get people to wear my apparel.  I then started off by designing just for my group of friends, then for the class of 2011 my senior year.  After I graduated in 2011 I didn't want to give up designing apparel, so my sister would take my designs to her classmates and I would design class shirts for them.  I wanted to do more than just target a highschools I really wanted to get out there, so I decided to start Nicki's Tees or NickisTees.com although it was a great little business for someone fresh out of highschool and just learning the ropes of how to run a business I felt like my target market just wasn't what I wanted.  This year I decided to do something completely different than what I've done before, I wanted to start my own name brand and clothing line.  I have a strong love for country music so I decided those that listened to country music would be my target market.  I came up with the name Pink Gunpowder and quickly started looking online and researching on how to start and market my business properly.  

My webstore, and fan page on facebook (facebook.com/pinkgunpowdergirls) just launched in March 2013 I have had a large number of people from all over, different states, and countries ordering my apparel from my online store.  This started as a small idea, a little hope but what I'm trying to say here is that I was told multiple times it wouldn't work, no one would purchase my apparel, and my marketing skills were not up to par.  If I had listened to every individual that told me I would not be able to do it I would not be writing this, I would be out pursuing different goals because I gave up on this one just because people told me too. Listen to your heart, if you have a goal and your mind is set as long as you keep looking at that goal and have ambition there is no doubt in my mind that you can achieve it.
