Body Recovered From Detroit River in Wyandotte

Divers searched the water Monday night to find the vehicle in the river.

Rescue divers pulled the body of a 54-year-old woman from the Detroit River after a pickup went into the water Monday night near Wyandotte's Bishop Park, according to the Associated Press.

Police Chief Dan Grant said the crash appears to be a suicide after witnesses reported the truck sped from the parking lot, onto grass, a pedestrian walkway and through a railing, according to the report.

Members of the Wayne County Underwater Search and Recovery Team and the Coast Guard were searching the water last night. The Coast Guard deployed sonar technology to help find the vehicle.

No further information was immediately available about the rescue results.
