Cars Broken Into On Chestnut, Poplar in Wyandotte

The following information was supplied by the Wyandotte Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

On Oct. 18, a 45-year old Wyandotte man reported that his car was broken into on the 800 block of Chestnut. Sometime during the early morning hours that day, the man parked his vehicle on the corner of 9th and Chestnut streets. According to police, someone smashed the rear window of his vehicle and took a duffel bag containing work tools. Inside the bag were some DeWalt tools, a reciprocating saw, a drill motor, a flashlight and a radio. No witnesses or suspects were reported.

On Oct. 20, a 56-year old Wyandotte woman reported that her vehicle was damaged while parked in front of her house in the 100 block of Poplar. According to police, the woman discovered that her driver’s side door was damaged at about 6 p.m. the night before.
