UPDATE: Police Believe Body Found in Detroit River is Missing Dearborn Man

Wyandotte police said they responded to a call from the Coast Guard at about 1 p.m. Friday and recovered the body of a black male near Hennepin Point in the Detroit River.

Wyandotte police said they believe the body found in the Detroit River on Friday afternoon is that of a missing Dearborn man.

Wyandotte and Grosse Ile police responded to a call at about 1:30 p.m. Friday from the United States Coast Guard after a body was spotted near Hennepin Point in the Detroit River, the Wyandotte Police Department said in a statement Friday.

The body was recovered and taken to the Wayne County Medical Office to be identified.

The results have not yet been confirmed, but Wyandotte police told Patch Saturday morning that they believe it is the body of Dearborn resident Ramas Paull McCrory, and have notified the man's family.

McCrory was named as a missing person on Monday after clothing and other items belonging to the him were found abandoned near the Detroit River at the north end of Bishop Park on Sept. 22. Police also found an abandoned pick-up truck, which McCrory's girlfriend identified as his.

We will NEVER understand why people do these things, so many factors but the sad part is they choose to die this way.

I did not know him personally, he is a friend to my extended family, and my spiritual brother. My prayers to his family and friends. May Jehovah extend comfort at this time of sorrow. 2 Cor 1:3

I've known Paull for years probably since I was 8 or so. I was hoping for a better outcome. Revelation 21:4 offers hope and comfort to all

Sorry to read about Paul. I have known him for many years, but due to life and growing up we lost touch. He was a sterling example of what a young man should be while growing up, and has helped many people including myself grow. My we all remember the good times we had with Paul, as we find comfort in the hope of seeing him again. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4)
