Officials Lay Out Details of Potential Wyandotte-Southgate Fire Merger

Financial analysis revealed that the cities could see a gain of $1 million through a combination of increased revenue and cost savings.

Wyandotte officials have revealed details about what the Wy-South Fire Department might look like if Wyandotte and Southgate go forward with a planned fire department merger.

In Monday's city council agenda packet, Wyandotte City Administrator
Todd Drysdale included the draft operating plan and organizational structure for a consolidated fire department, which can be found above. (To see a full-screen version of the plan, click here.)

Drysdale note that the cities would see a financial gain of just over $1 million through a combination of new revenue and cost saving measures.

The next steps in this process will be to focus on whether an agreeable collective bargaining agreement can be reached amongst the unions and the two cities.
