Wyandotte Businessman Daniel Mattice Killed in Freeway Accident
Insurance agency owner loved spending time with his family and riding his Harley.
Well-known local businessman Daniel John Mattice, owner of the agency on Eureka Road in Wyandotte, died Saturday, June 11 in a freeway crash. He was 35.
According to reports, the accident occurred on 1-75 near Outer Drive. The crash is under investigation by the Allen Park Police Department.
Mattice, of Woodhaven, also was the sales manager for a home improvement firm and a member of the Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber since 2008.

Mattice was devoted to his family and loved spending time with his wife, Katrina, and 4-year-old daughter, Marisa.
An avid motorcyclist and a member of the Iron Mustangs Motorcycle Club, he reportedly was on his way home from a club meeting when the accident happened.

“He was a really, really well-loved guy,” said Paula Brackett, secretary at J.L. Peters Funeral Home in Lincoln Park where visitation was held Tuesday and Wednesday. “The procession (of motorcycles) at his funeral was really something to see.”
In addition to his wife and daughter, Mattice is survived by his parents, Linda Stec and Dan Mattice; sisters Brandy (Dominic) Piantedosi and Deanna (Michael) Arnott; grandparents, Beverly and Clive Mattice; his aunt, Gail Mattice; as well as many nieces and nephews. He also is survived by his in-laws, Ramon and Latifa Hernandez; his brother-in-law, Michael Hernandez; and many friends and colleagues.
Interment was Wednesday at the Michigan Memorial Park in Flat Rock.
