Wyandotte Mother Found Not Guilty in Scalding Case

Erica Anne Bohn was acquitted of second-degree child abuse charges during a bench trial.

A Wyandotte mother was found not guilty for her alleged role in forcing her two young children to stand in steaming hot water for so long that the youngsters' feet were severely burned.

 was charged with two counts of second-degree child abuse.

After a March 1 bench trial, Wayne County Circuit Judge Richard Skutt found Bohn not guilty.

Mark Bernardi, a spokesman for the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, said on Friday that his office had no comment on the acquittal.

Bohn's boyfriend and the father of the two children, Brandon Edward Soules, 29, also was charged in the case. He pleaded guilty to two felony counts of second-degree child abuse and was sentenced Jan. 30 to one year in jail and three years probation.
