Get Your Leaves Piled and Ready for Pickup

Curbside leaf collection ends Dec. 2. Leaves also can be taken to the Wyandotte Recycling Center.

Leaves will be picked up curbside over the next several weeks.

The collections will be done in various zones throughout the city.

  • Oct. 31 to Nov. 4, Pennsylvania to south side of Eureka, 23rd to the railroad tracks
  • Nov. 7-11, Eureka to Goddard, 23rd to 15th streets
  • Nov. 14-18, Eureka to Ford, 15th to the railroad tracks, Oak to Pennsylvania, railroad tracks to the Detroit River
  • Nov. 21-25, Ford to North Drive, 15th to the railroad tracks
  • Nov. 28 to Dec. 2, North side of Oak to North Drive, railroad tracks to the Detroit River

Pickup will occur during the week, but leaves should be at the curb on the Monday of the collection week.

Grass clippings, branches and tree trimmings cannot be mixed in with the leaves. If they are, residents can be issued an ordinance violation and fine.

Residents are asked to follow three guidelines:

  1. Rake all leaves into the street at the curb.
  2. Do not park on or near leaf plies due to the potential fire hazard.
  3. Wetting the leaf piles with a garden hose will prevent blowing and also reduce the risk of fires.

Leaves also can be taken to the . November hours have been extended to 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays.
