Green Facts on Wyandotte's Solar Energy Project

Wyandotte's solar photovoltaic project generates about 250,000 kilowatt hours each year.

The project includes 884 solar photovoltaic modules, most of which are located atop the roof of the city’s water settling basin building. A smaller “garden” is located next to the municipal services facility near the north end of .

The total capacity includes a 212.16 kilowatt system that generates the equivalent power supply of 50 average-sized houses.

  • It annually generates about 250,000 kilowatt hours of energy.
  • Saves annual greenhouse emissions from 34 cars.
  • Saves CO2 emissions from one railcar of coal (90.89 metric tons) consumed.
  • Saves CO2 emissions from 20 gallons of gasoline consumed.
  • Saves CO2 emissions from 400 barrels of oil consumed.
