Several Wyandotte Streets to be Repaired in 2012
The roadwork projects will be paid jointly by grant dollars and local funds. Is your street on the list?
A mild winter caused less salting of the roads, which helped keep streets from deteriorating further.
Despite that positive news, City Administrator Todd Drysdale said, there's always work that needs to be done to maintain proper upkeep of the city's roads.
"All municipal infrastructure is stressed," he said. "You just don’t have enough money to invest in all of those things."

However, a combination of grant dollars and general fund dollars have been earmarked to repair some Wyandotte streets in 2012.
In addition to the local roads, Wayne County also has been active in the last couple years with repairing county roads. Fort is under repair now and Biddle was reconstructed last year. Work was done on Ford and Eureka a couple years ago, Drysdale said.

"I think our roads are in pretty good shape," he said. "Everyone wants better roads, of course. Relatively speaking, though, if you look at some of our neighboring communities, ours are in great shape compared to theirs."
Wyandotte Streets to be Repaired in 2012
The list of local roads to be repaired this year remains somewhat tentative as a couple changes could still be made, Assistant City Engineer Gregory Mayhew said. They're noted below.
Resurfacing (one of these streets could be delayed till 2013)
- 2nd, from Oak to Ford
- 3rd, from Plum to Vinewood
- 9th, from Vinewood to Oak
- 13th, from Pine to Eureka
- 22nd, from Cedar to Walnut
- Baumey, from Electric to 8th
- Electric, from Ford to Vinewood
- Lindbergh, from Antoine to Ford
- Mollno, from 10th to 12th
- Pope John Paul, from 9th to 10th
- Sullivan, from 2nd to Biddle
Concrete Repair and Reconstruction
- 13th, from Grove to Pennsylvania
- 19th and Walnut intersection (could be delayed till 2013)
- 21st, from Vinewood to Walnut
- North Ford, from 20th to 21st, alley reconstruction
- Ford to Bondie and Electric to Cora
