Sign up Now for 2013 Wyandotte Curbside Yard Waste Pickup

The service will start the week of April 15 and run through the week of Dec. 2.

For the third consecutive year, the city of Wyandotte is offering residents the opportunity to have their yard waste picked up curbside for a cheaper price than the city's contracted trash collector would charge.

The cost for the voluntary service will be $55 a year or $1.62 a week throughout 2013.

Pickup will start the week of April 15 and continue through the week of Dec. 2. Yard waste is collected on the same day as trash is collected.

Waste Management, which handles the city's trash pickup, would charge about $76 a year for a resident to have curbside yard waste pickup. The city's Department of Public Service, however, is able to do it cheaper using city employees.

In 2012, 587 people subscribed to yard waste pickup.
