U.S. Rep. John Dingell Glad to Have Wyandotte Back in His District
The 113th Congress was sworn into office on Thursday in Washington, D.C.
U.S. Rep. John Dingell's name has been synonymous with Downriver for decades.
In 2003, however, because of redistricting, a section of Downriver — including Wyandotte — was removed from Dingell's district.
And now, due to redistricting again, Wyandotte is back in Dingell's newly redrawn 12th Congressional District.

After being sworn into office Thursday, Dingell released this written statement:
"Wyandotte and all of our Downriver communities are so important to our state and our region, I'm glad to have them back within our district's official lines. I've always worked hard for, and considered these areas to be part of my home, and I'm honored to continue to have that same opportunity in this 113th Congress."
According to Christopher Schuler, Dingell's communications director, the congressman formerly represented Wyandotte from 1965 through the end of 2002.
