Wyandotte Budget Group to Host Public Forum

The Citizens' Budget Advisory Committee is seeking input on how the city should balance its budget.

The volunteer is seeking residents' thoughts on how the city should balance its budget, which is estimated to have a $1.8 million deficit next year.

The committee is hosting a public forum at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the . Residents are invited to come out and share their ideas and to ask questions of committee members.

Committee chairman Ferd Keller stressed to committee members that the meeting was not to become a debate, but merely an exchanging of ideas.

The committee will then meet one last time at 5 p.m. Monday to finalize its report for the mayor and City Council. That meeting also is open to the public and will take place in the training room on the second floor of the .

Committee members said they plan to suggest that a be put before voters in November to cover some, if not all, of the $1.8 million deficit. They also plan to propose several ideas on how they believe the city .
