Wyandotte City Administrator Happy with Job Review

Todd Drysdale said 'a lot of strides' have been made since he was appointed to the top job last year.

Todd Drysdale said he is pleased with the performance evaluation he received Monday night from city officials.

As allowed by law, Drysdale opted to have his review done behind closed doors, but said he was pleased with the feedback he received from the mayor and City Council.

Having worked for the city for 14 years as its director of financial and administrative services before , Drysdale said money woes have continued to highlight his first 11 months in the new position.

"We’ve made a lot of strides as an organization, primarily focused on the financial side," he said. "Dealing with the issues facing us in terms of reduced property values and less state shared revenue coming from the state has made things challenging."

While there's always room for growth and improvement, Drysdale said, he's happy with what he's been able to accomplish thus far.

"I’ve made some small strides in terms of the immediate goals we had for the position," he said. "The last year of uncertainty of local government operations has made it extremely challenging."

Mayor Joseph Peterson had nothing but praise for Drysdale.

“Todd has done an excellent job," he said. "During these tough economic times, the city administrator’s position is long overdue. We’re further ahead now because of the expertise and professionalism Todd brought to the job. ... Todd is the heart of the city that pumps the blood to make the city flow."
