Wyandotte Election Candidates Answer Patch Questionnaire: Don Schultz

Wyandotte Patch sent all 15 candidates running for election or re-election an identical questionnaire to give voters more information on each candidate.

The Wyandotte election is rapidly approaching and to help voters make sound, informed decisions, Wyandotte Patch created a questionnaire for candidates seeking election or re-election in 2013.

Election day is set for May 7.

Each of the 15 candidates seeking election or re-election received the same nine questions.

How long have you been a resident of Wyandotte?:

Lifelong Resident

What is your prior political experience?:

I am the current Vice Chairman of the Planning Commission, Three term President and current member of the cultural and Historical Commission, and sit on the Design Review Committee for the Central Business District.

What made you decide to seek election/re-election?:

To use my professional and public experience to help move the City in a positive direction.

What issues do you see affecting Wyandotte?:

“Revenue”. It must be of the highest priority. You cannot cut your way to prosperity.

What is your plan to address those issues?

We need to find innovative ways to generate revenue without raising taxes. We need to aggressively market our downtown and all of the vacant commercial and residential lots.  We also need to watch our housing stock carefully, strengthen and enforce our code of ordinances.
