Wyandotte's Meet the Candidates Night is Wednesday

The 15 people running for local office in the May 7 general election have been invited to the event.

Wyandotte residents will have a chance to meet the 15 people running for local office during a Meet the Candidates night at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Copeland Center.

The Garfield and McKinley Neighbors United Neighborhood Groups are sponsoring the event.

The candidates will each be given 5 minutes to talk about their campaign. Questions will not be taken from the audience, but the candidates have been invited to stay afterward to chat with individual voters.

Mayor: Joseph Peterson (I) (unopposed)

City Council: Daniel Galeski (I), Theodore Galeski, Johnny Kolakowski, Ted Miciura, Leonard Sabuda (I), Don Schultz, Lawrence Stec (I), Sheri Sutherby-Fricke (I), Kevin VanBoxell and Val Zavala (six elected)

City Clerk: William Griggs (I) (unopposed)

Treasurer: Todd Browning (unopposed)

Assessor: Jerry Kupser, Tom Woodruff (one elected)
