Dealerships Rev Up Program to Aid Wyandotte Grads

Southgate Ford and Southgate Lincoln will donate to the Wyandotte Public Schools Scholarship Foundation for every new or used vehicle that is leased or purchased if buyer mentions the promo.

A car dealership promotion is moving full speed ahead to help students further their education through college.

Southgate Ford and Southgate Lincoln are donating money to the Wyandotte Public Schools Scholarship Foundation for every new or used vehicle that is leased or purchased if the buyer mentions the foundation at the time of sale.

To encourage that, district officials have begun circulating coupons for would-be buyers as a way to remind them of the promotion. (To print a copy, click the PDF tab to the right.)

The scholarship foundation is a non-profit organization that donated nearly $70,000 last year to 89 college-bound Roosevelt students.

Southgate Ford General Manager Jim Jurcak said the per-car donation program is a venture that helps both the foundation and his business.

“We want to sell more cars and we thought if we could help the community at the same, it would be a good match for both," he said.
