The database is part of the magazine's "Building a better teacher" series, which includes articles on teaching in Canada and the state's teacher education and certification process.

"We reported to the state that there are 252 class room teachers in Wyandotte," Harting said in a comment on this story. "This would be an average class size of 18.6. The reason for the low number is due to our special education center programs, which have lower class sizes as required by special education regulations. We are working to have the class size data corrected."
