compared to the year before in all areas except for writing. The ACT scores also dropped in 2011 compared to 2010. At that time, new school superintendent Carla Harting said the plan was to meet with high school administrators and teachers to analyze the results to figure out ways to increase the scores.

"We are going to look at those scores to see what we need to bring them up," she said last year. "We’re never happy when it looks like we are going backward."
