School Officials Sponsor 'Come Home to Wyandotte'

Thursday night event offers parents a chance to tour Wyandotte schools and chat with educators.

Officials from are hoping to entice parents who have taken their children out of the district to bring them back to Wyandotte.

The school district is hosting a "Come Back to Wyandotte" event on Thursday, where educators will be at schools in the evening to meet with parents and answer their questions.

"Anybody is welcome to come see our buildings," school Superintendent Carla Harting said. "This is an opportunity for anyone who may have chosen to go outside of Wyandotte for their school to come back and to see what we have to offer. ... Because of schools of choice, they might have chosen another district. We would like for them to take another look at our district and come home to Wyandotte."

Tours of the various schools in the district will be available, as will enrollment information for the 2012-13 school year.

The event runs from 6 to 7 p.m. at , , and elementary schools, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at and from 7 to 8 p.m. at .
