Superintendent to Retire at End of School Year

Patricia Cole to leave after 17 years at the helm of Wyandotte Public Schools; three other school administrators also plan to retire this year.

Wyandotte Public Schools Superintendent Patricia Cole is ending her career after 17 years at the helm of the district.

She is expected to announce her retirement at Tuesday’s meeting. It will become effective at the end of the school year.

Three other administrators are retiring this year as well. They are Director of Operations Edward Campbell, Business Manager David Gutenschwager and Payroll Administrative Assistant Patricia Markiecki.

School board members are expected to accept the retirements and then immediately begin discussing “district leadership and transition,” according to the meeting’s agenda.

The board will meet at 7 p.m. in the City Council chambers on the second floor of , 3131 Biddle Ave.
