WXYZ Honors Wyandotte Valedictorian with 'Brightest and Best' Award
Daniel Balavitch is among 256 students from the metro Detroit area to receive the recognition.
In addition to at , Daniel Balavitch also has picked up some TV recognition.
He was recently announced as one of the recipients of WXYZ-TV Channel 7's "Brightest and Best" awards.
Balavitch is the only Wyandotte student to win the honor, which was given this year to 256 students in the metro Detroit area. The students were recognized recently at a special luncheon at the TV station in Southfield.

The station teamed up with Gardner-White Furniture this year to present the Brightest and Best Essay Contest. One lucky student that submits a 500-word essay on how to move Michigan forward by retaining college graduates to work and live in Michigan will receive a $5,000 scholarship.
