Wyandotte Public Schools Appoints New Principals

Jason Krajewski appointed principal of Wilson Middle School and Benjamin Reynolds appointed as an assistant principal at Roosevelt High School.

Wyandotte middle and high school students will see new men at the helm of their schools in the fall.

Jason Krajewski, who currently is an assistant principal at , has been appointed the new principal of .

Benjamin Reynolds, who currently teaches social students at Wilson, has been appointed as an assistant principal at Roosevelt, replacing Krajewski.

Krajewski has worked in the district since 1998. He taught social studies, current events and world geography before being appointed assistant principal in 2007.

Krajewski, who did his student teaching at Wilson, said he didn't even know "what a Downriver was" when he came to the area 13 years ago.

"I'm honored to be named as the Wilson Middle School principal," he said. "I look forward to working with the kids (and) getting used to that age level again. ... I hope that I can continue the success of Wilson Middle School and Wyandotte Public Schools."

School superintendent Carla Harting said she was proud to have Krajewski in his new role and happy that he's agreed to continue announcing high school sports.

"Jason Krajewski is an excellent administrator who has great rapport with students, colleagues and parents," she said. "He is known as the voice of Roosevelt and will continue to announce events at the high school. He will bring his administrative knowledge and skills to his new position as Wilson Middle School principal."

Reynolds has been with the district since 2003. In addition to teaching, he also has coached football, wrestling and baseball in the district.

"I am so incredibly proud and happy to be a part of this school district for the last nine years," he said. "I think hands down we have the best district in the state of Michigan. I'm extremely excited for this new challenge in my career. ... I can't wait to get in there and work hard and help make this district a better place."

Harting said Reynolds is a great addition to the district's administrative staff.

"Ben Reynolds is a wonderful advocate for students," she said. "He brings a love of education and a passion for Wyandotte to his new position of assistant principal at RHS."

The shuffling in principal positions began in April when to return to the classroom as a social studies teacher at Roosevelt.

Thomas Kell, the longtime principal at Wilson, , causing the need to find a new principal for the middle school.
