Wyandotte Public Schools Hires 2 New Administrators

Two women will be joining the district’s administrative staff this year at

Rebecca Eyster was hired as the new director of human resources, replacing longtime employee Jane Allman who retired this year.

Sarah Thaler was hired as the new instruction and assessment coordinator. That position is new and will focus on analyzing educational data throughout the district.

Both women will start at $55,000 a year.

Eyster has a master’s degree in educational leadership from Wayne State University. She comes to Wyandotte from the Riverview Community School District, where she worked for 16 years, nine of them as the district’s personnel specialist.

She previously worked for Wyandotte Public Schools as the district’s safe and drug free schools instructor in 1996-97.

“I look forward to working with everyone and I am very happy to be returning to Wyandotte schools,” Eyster said.

Thaler has a master’s degree in curriculum, instruction and assessment and is a doctorial student at Central Michigan University. She worked as a science teacher for eight years in Maryland before moving to Michigan.

She comes to Wyandotte from Sacred Heart Academy in Clare where she worked as the assistant principal; director of curriculum, instruction and assessment; and academic advisor.

“I’m excited to get back in the public schools and come down here and move my family down here,” Thaler said.
