Bears' Running Back Tyler Dunn Hospitalized (updated 12:40 a.m.)

The Wyandotte senior was taken away in an ambulance near the beginning of the fourth quarter of Friday night's homecoming game.

, a senior running back for the , was hospitalized Friday after suffering an injury near the beginning of the fourth quarter of Friday night's homecoming football game.

As players started heading into a huddle, Dunn could be seen laying face down on the ground, not moving. The game was stopped and Wyandotte's trainers and coaches rushed to the field.

Dunn was put in a neck brace, placed on a stretcher and transported to in an ambulance.

Early indications are he suffered a pinched nerve, according to head coach Ron Adams, who said Dunn complained of tingling and numbness in his neck, shoulder and arms.

"A couple of us had an opportunity to talk to Tyler when he was on the ground and he really wanted to get up off the ground," Adams said. "We don’t know exactly what his status is right now, but we’re trying to be optimistic about it. Hopefully we’ll have some good news here very shortly."

A hospital spokeswoman did not immediately know Dunn's condition.

The Bears went on to win the game, 21-20, in overtime against Taylor Truman.

Truman scored all of their points after Dunn was taken out of the game.
