Dads Tell Sons 'I Love You, I'm Proud of You' at Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte

Father and Son Jersey Night at Wyandotte Roosevelt High School brought together athletes and their fathers and mentors.

For the third straight year fathers with sons who play football for Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte took a moment Wednesday night to say, "I love you."

The annual Father and Son Jersey Night allows young athletes to bond with their fathers and mentors among a common interest—football.

Fathers and mentors presented each athlete with a jersey. As the the players received their jersey they were told these three touching statements:

I love you.

I'm proud of you.

I appreciate and respect you because...

Each father and mentor finished the final statement with a personal sentiment written specifically for the intended athlete.

"
It was a great evening," head varsity football coach Ron Adams said. "Thanks to everyone who participated."
