Foley, Madej Face Off in Epic Night of Fights

Wyandotte and Livonia women vying for the Warrior Xtreme Cagefighting Women's Flyweight Championship.

A news release:

Wyandotte’s Lauren Foley will face off against Livonia’s Natalie Madej for the vacant Warrior Xtreme Cagefighting Women’s Flyweight Championship at WXC 51 on July 25 at the Southgate Civic Center.

Foley, the reigning WXC 115-pound champion, will be vying to become the recognized champion in two separate weight classes.

Standing across the cage from Foley, will be the 4-1 Natalie Madej, who is already recognized as the flyweight champion of two other organizations.

Madej respects Foley’s wrestling ability, but feels she has an advantage in the stand-up fighting.

“I need to avoid takedowns to win the fight, which isn’t a real big problem because I’m definitely superior to her in strength,” Madej said. “I’m definitely going to go for the knockout, or I’ll end it with my guillotine choke, which is pretty painful.”

Foley, who competed for Wyandotte’s Roosevelt High School against high school boys in both wrestling and football, said she is not concerned about her opponent’s professed strength advantage.

“I know Madej likes to throw a lot of wild punches, but that’s really all I know about her,” Foley said. “I’m going to win by either TKO or submission, probably in the first or second round.”

The doors open for WXC 51 at 6:30 p.m. and the fights begin at 7:30 p.m. Advance ticket purchases can be made at www.ticketriver.com. For more information, please visit www.wxcmma.com.
