Wyandotte Men Finish 2nd at Wy-Hi Regatta
The Wyandotte Roosevelt Bears came in behind Ann Arbor Huron, who dominated the entire event.
On a day where weather wasn't a factor for the first time in years, the was completed in quick fashion on Saturday.
, which hosts the event, took second place in the men's division with a score of 102. They finished behind the Ann Arbor Huron River Rats, which dominated the entire day and won the overall regatta, as well.
“Today was a great day,” Wyandotte coach Amy Peterson said. “It seems like we continue to get better each and every week.”

The Bears enjoyed a fulfilling day on the water, placing in several races. The MN8+ team finished in first place with a time of 5:22.06. Another first place finish came from the M2X team, which sported a time of 6:17.25, barely edging out a team by 2.37 seconds.
The MN4+ team finished second with 6:31.62. The MJR8+ team finished in third with 5:47.88. The WSR4+ team also finished third with 6:38.25

also competed and finished first in the WX1 and second in the MX1.
Compared with a week ago when the weather was between 40 and 50 degrees and overcast for the , the weather for Wy-Hi had temperatures in the middle 60s and hardly a cloud in the sky. However, the weather is only part of the equation to winning a regatta, coupled with hard work and a well-connected team.
“The weather was great today and it felt amazing to be out there," sophomore Vincent Pizzo said. "It was like floating on air, and we wouldn’t be here right now if we didn’t push each other.”
The Bears are off until next week when they will participate in an informal scrimmage at Ford Lake in Belleville.
