Wilson Middle School Swimmers Medal at State Meet

Thirteen Wyandotte students qualified for the Michigan Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association 2012 Middle School Meet.

Four boys swam their way to medals at the Michigan Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association 2012 Middle School Meet.

The meet, held Saturday in Holt, invites the top middle school athletes throughout the state based on their swimming time.

Wyandotte’s Alex Mitchell, Dylan Fore, Alex Bearden and Easton Tabin took seventh in the state in the boys 200 free relay with a time of 1:48.19.

Easton and Alex also received medals individually in two races.

Easton captured sixth place in the boys 50 free (25.33) and 11th place in the boys 100 free (57.52).

Alex finished 10th in the boys 100 breast (1:14.27) and 15th in the boys 100 IM (1.08.90).

Josh Watson, Alex Mitchell, Easton Tabin and Alex Bearden finished 21st in the boys 200 medley with a time of 2:11.96.

Several girls also qualified for the state meet.

Maddie Wesner, Kayla Salamon, Alexis Long and Sydney Serra took 19th place in the girls 200 free relay with a time of 2:02.83.

Sydney Serra, Eleya Montroy, Macy Perovich and Alexis Long took 19th place in the girls 400 free relay with a time of 4:35.50.

Elizabeth Olson, Ashley Matheny, Macy Perovich and Maddie Wesner finished 25th in the girls 200 medley with a time of 2:23.43.

Sydney Serra also swam individually in the girls 200 free and finished in 25th place with a time of 2:23.20.
