Wyandotte Roosevelt to Face Woodhaven in Football Playoffs

It's a battle of the best football Downriver.

Wyandotte Roosevelt (8-1) will face familiar rival Woodhaven (8-1) in the first round of the statewide football playoffs.

The announcement was made Sunday on the annual Selection Sunday show, aired on Fox Sports Detroit.

The time and date of the game will be announced Monday. It'll be played in Woodhaven.

A complete playoff bracket is available for download on the MHSAA website. (The Bears are in Division 2.)

Wyandotte secured a share of the Downriver League title this year when the team went 8-1, losing only to Woodhaven 64-36 on Sept. 28. The 2012 title is split with Taylor Truman and Woodhaven, as those teams also ended with 8-1 records. And now, two of those teams could battle it out in the second round of the playoffs.

The winner of the Wyandotte v Woodhaven game will then face the winner of the Allen Park v Taylor Truman playoff game.

Wyandotte made it to the playoffs last year, as well, but lost to Detroit Martin Luther King in the regional round.
