Tyler Dunn has signed to play football with Siena Heights University in the fall.
After speaking with representatives from several colleges and universities, Dunn said, choosing which one to attend came down to good manners.
"When I went on my visit, all the people there were very polite," he said. "I felt comfortable the first time I was on the campus and it can only get better from there. They have the major I want, which is criminal justice. I'm just ecstatic and feel confident about this upcoming season. We have a good recruiting class coming in."
As a running back and a co-captain of the Bears this season, Dunn finished 2011 with 700 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns, while also catching 12 passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns. His play helped the team capture the and .
Serving as a punt and kickoff return specialist in 2011, he also took back two kicks for touchdowns and gaining a total of 530 return yards.
On defense, as a member of the team’s secondary, he picked off three passes and made a total of 30 tackles.
Throughout the year, Dunn had a knack for coming up big when it mattered most.
Against , in a battle for the Downriver League title, he scored three touchdowns, gained 173 all-purpose yards and intercepted a pass on defense.
Three weeks later, with the on the line, Dunn rushed for 142 yards, scored two touchdowns and picked off a pass at a key moment against rival Southgate Anderson.

Before signing with Siena Heights, Dunn said, he spoke with representatives from Saginaw Valley State University, Wayne State University, Hope College and Concordia University.
Dunn had previously said he wanted to major in exercise science and one day own a gym and work as a personal trainer. After some thinking, he said, he changed his mind.
"I was just looking at the big picture and I think criminal justice would be better in the long run," he said. "I want to help people. It makes me feel good."
