Athletes from across Metro Detroit, and as far away as Texas, biked, ran and kayaked Saturday in the second .
But the youngest participant was Anthony Cross, 14, of Wyandotte.
This was his first triathlon, and he was 41st overall finisher at a time of 1:32:06.
The event, which included a 2.1 mile kayak race in Lake St. Clair, a 5K run through St. Clair Shores and a 11.1 bike through the Grosse Pointes, attracted 290 participants. Last year there were 191.
