Local Parents Seek Donations for Visually Challenged Son

GoFundMe.com allows people to create online campaigns that others can donate to.

Online fundraiser GoFundMe.com has brought in nearly $1,200 to help Trevor with the difficulties of being visually impaired.

Roxie White of Trenton created the fundraiser in October with hopes of sending the 4-year-old to a behavioral specialist in Ann Arbor.

“We are trying to raise money to help with current and future issues that may come up. We are also hoping to raise enough money for Trevor to go see Dr. Richard Solomon at the Ann Arbor center for developmental and behavioral pediatrics, and to get him a service dog,” the fundraiser said.

Trevor was diagnosed with congenital cataracts in both eyes when he was 5 months old. He’s had a total of eight surgeries in both eyes, and was recently diagnosed with cerebral palsy, epilepsy and heart defect right bundle branch block, the fundraiser said.

The campaign hopes to raise $2,000.
