Maiani, Rinna Nominated for Jaycees Award

The two women are the Wyandotte Jaycees' nominees for the Outstanding Young Woman of the Year Award, which will be presented during the Wyandotte Women of the Year event.

The Wyandotte Jaycees have announced that Megan Maiani and Jeanette Rinna are the nominees for the Outstanding Young Woman of the Year Award.

The award will be given during the Wyandotte Women of the Year event on Saturday at the Wyandotte Arts Center.

Maiani is a children’s counselor for Camp Quality with American Cancer Society, and she has worked annually with the Wyandotte Relay for Life.

Maiani is pursuing a nursing degree at the Mercy College of Nursing, and she is serving her internship at Oakwood Hospital & Medical Center in Dearborn.

"Ms. Maiani has a strong motivation in making sure that her community and the children in the community have healthy future to pass along her passion," the Jaycees said in a written statement.

Rinna is the owner of the 4 Her clothing store in Wyandotte, and she has worked in the retail clothing business for more than 12 years.

Rinna is involved in charity events in Wyandotte, and she works with local businesses to improve the Downriver area’s economy.

"She works with the local businesses in Wyandotte to bring more business downriver and is often involved in charity events taking place in Wyandotte," the Jaycees said in a written statement.

As Outstanding Young Woman nominees, Maiani and Rinna are eligible for the Michigan Jaycees Outstanding Young Michigander Award.

This is the first year Women of Wyandotte has hosted the Woman of the Year program.
