Wyandotte Jaycees Honored as Best Chapter in U.S.

The award is given to the group's 2010 board of directors and then-president Julie Abshire.

The have won a number of local, state and regional awards, but have never been honored as they were Thursday night.

The nonprofit group of 20- and 30-year-olds received the Harold A. Marks Award, designating them as the top Jaycees chapter in the nation.

The award was announced during the first day of the three-day U.S. Jaycees 91st Annual Meeting in Chicago.
