Week Ahead: City Meetings, Detroit River Cleanup, Supt. Search, and More This Week in Wyandotte

Wyandotte City Council
Due to inclement weather, the city's regular city council meeting was rescheduled for Monday, Jan. 13, 7 p.m. at 3200 Biddle Ave.

Board of Education
The search is underway for a new superintendent, and the school board is seeking public input at its community forum this Tuesday, Jan. 14 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Roosevelt High School. The forum is an opportunity to ask questions and gather information on the search process.
“We want the residents to be involved in the process,” Supt. Carla Harting said at the Dec. 10 Board of Education study session. “We will be seeking input throughout the search.”
The next school board meeting is scheduled for Jan.21. A copy of the agenda will be available Monday.
Downtown Development Authority Meeting
The DDA will meet Tuesday, Jan.14 at 5:30 p.m. to discuss business and ongoing projects. The committee will meet at the city's chambers at 3200 Biddle Ave. Click here for a copy of the agenda.
Trenton Channel Legacy Act Project
EPA and its partners have completed a feasibility study for cleaning up contaminated sediment in the Upper Trenton Channel of the Detroit River as part of the Great Lakes Legacy Act.
The Environmental Protection Agency is hosting a public meeting from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15 at the Wyandotte Boat Club, 1 Pine St., to discuss environmental work scheduled to take place on the upper Trenton Channel.

Planning Commission Meeting
The next Planning Commission meeting will be held Thursday, Jan. 16, 6:30 p.m. at the council chambers in Wyandotte City Hall. A copy of the agenda can be found here.
