Beer Will Flow in Downtown Wyandotte Friday

Plus Friday night football, Downriver Cook Off and more to enjoy in Wyandotte this weekend.

Wyandotte Beer Fest
The beer is about to flow through Biddle Ave. like a river of bitter, hoppy goodness for the September Third Friday event. The event starts at 5 p.m. Friday, and you have the option to stop by businesses to sample craft beer or buy domestic beer on the street. Food and live entertainment will also abound. Beer tasting mugs will be available at the clock tower on the day of the event. You can also hop on a trolley for a free ride through town.

Canning demonstration at the Wyandotte Farmers Market
If you're wondering how to enjoy delicious summer fruits and vegetables in the dead of winter, stop by the Wyandotte Farmers Market on Thursday, where a canning demonstration will take place from noon to 2 p.m. Come away knowing how to make your own applesauce and preserve soups and stocks. The Farmers Market takes place each Thursday from noon to 6 p.m. at the corner of First and Elm in downtown Wyandotte. The last day of the market season is Oct. 3

Roosevelt Bears play at home against Allen Park
Nothing says fall in Wyandotte like Friday night football, especially when your team is being called an "offensive juggernaut." The Roosevelt Bears take on Allen Park at home this Friday at 7 p.m. at the Roosevelt High School football field. Go Bears!

"Jerry's Girls: A Musical Review"
Enjoy an evening of cabernet this weekend in Wyandotte. This Broadway hit features all the best songs for women from such great musicals as "Mame," "Hello Dolly," "Milk and Honey," "Mack and Mabel," and "Le Cage Au Folles."Downriver Actors Guild will host this fundraiser on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Out of the Box Theater, 1165 Ford Ave.

Fourth Annual Downriver Cook Off
Who is Downriver's "Top Chef?" Come to Belicoso Martini Cigar Bar Sunday to sample food from some of the area's most popular restaurants, including Pier 500, Magdaleno, Axe N' Ladder Deli, Smokey Rhodes BBQ and Tijuana's Mexican Kitchen. There will also be live music from DTour Band. Tickets cost $25 and the event runs from noon to 6 p.m. For tickets or more information call 734-341-5079 or 734-365-1222.
