Chili Cook Off, 80s Hair Band Highlights of Fall Festival in Wyandotte

You can also help raise money for breast cancer screening at the Pink Parasol Party, and get scared silly at the Bloodbath on Biddle.

2013 WBA 3rd Friday - Fall Festival
A chill is in the air, and pumpkins and hay stacks have taken over downtown Wyandotte. "Fall Festival" is the theme of the October Third Friday event put on by the Wyandotte Business Association. Festivities include live performances from That 80's Band, food vendors, beer for sale street-side, late-night shopping with store specials and raffles, the annual Chili Cook Off and a kids coloring contest. The event is free to attend and starts at 5 p.m. on Friday.

Bloodbath on Biddle
In the 37th year of the Jaycees haunted house, the group is maximizing on the downtown location, according to Marketing Director Allan Joseph. For Third Friday, they're bringing in street performers from the Detroit Circus and the Downriver Roller Dolls roller derby team will be working and accepting donations. For a complete list of ticket prices and events, see the official Bloodbath Web page at www.wyandottejaycees/hh. Fall Rummage Sale

Looking to do a little shopping this weekend, and score some great deals? Stop by Trinity Lutheran Church this Friday from noon to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The church is located on the corner of Oak and Fifth Street. The sale is sponsored by Trinity Women In Mission (TWIM).

Pink Parasol Party
If you could help a working woman without insurance to obtain a free mammogram possibly to save her life, would you? Join the Women of Wyandotte at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the VFW Hall at 663 Ford in Wyandotte. Guests will enjoy a delicious dinner, dancing, beer and wine and a photo booth. Tickets are $40 per person or $75 per couple and all proceeds benefit the Yes Ma'am Program at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, which provides free mammograms for working uninsured women in the Downriver area.

Get Covered America
Visit the Get Covered America booth at Bacon Memorial Library on Saturday to get informed about new health insurance options available under the Affordable Care Act. Get Covered America plans to arm people with just the facts, so you will feel confident when it comes time to choose the best health insurance plan that’s right for you and your family. Help and information will be available on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
