Shop Small Business Saturday And Festive Fridays In Wyandotte

The organizations are also working to giveaway "Joe Bucks" gift certificates to random shoppers this holiday season.

Wyandotte Downtown Development Authority is partnering with Wyandotte Business Association to promote shopping in the city’s independently owned and operated businesses.

Small Business Saturday is a shopping holiday created by American Express, held on the Saturday after Thanksgiving during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year.

By contrast to Black Friday, Small Business Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to patronize brick and mortar businesses that are small and local, Natalie Rankine, downtown development director, said.

“It’s no secret that our small businesses don’t benefit in the same way that big box stores do during the Holiday Season. This is our effort to help change that for them,” Rankine said.
