Red Bird of Happiness

For years, thirty years, to be exact, the Cardinal has been the bearer of peace for my mom and me.  Thirty years ago, when my precious grandma passed away, my mom was looking out her bedroom window asking for a simple sign that HER mom was at peace now.  Within minutes a Cardinal flew right to her window and perched on the outside window sill!  To this very day, when we ask for a sign of comfort or a hint that "this, too, shall pass," our red bird usually appears!  Here, he sits on a basket of green onions my husband planted last spring!
