<p>The Lincoln Center is one of three Wyandotte special education schools. While the Lincoln Center is part of Wyandotte Public Schools, it serves students from 17 Downriver communities. The Lincoln Center is geared toward students with cognitive impairments, autism spectrum disorder and dually diagnosed students who are both cognitively and emotional impaired. The school focuses on teaching social skills, communication skills, self-care and daily living, pre-vocational skills, and leisure and recreational skills. </p>
<p>The school's mission is "to teach our students to become active participants in their personal and community lives."</p> <p>It operates out of the same building as the <a href="http://patch.com/L-qLX3">Jo Brighton Skills Center</a>.</p>
