The Wyandotte Police Department has been housed in several locations over the years. In 2008, it moved from its longtime spot at the corner of Biddle and Ford to its new, spacious, state-of-the-art facility south of Ford. It shares the 17,000-square-feet glass-front building with the 27th District Court.

Besides dispensing justice and upholding the law, the department provides a number of other services, including fingerprinting, classes on carrying a concealed weapon and an Explorers program for those ages 14 to 20 who are interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement.
