In her entry, Ruddock said she'd spend the money on "Fried Pickles and IPA at Sports (Brew Pub) of course!!!" We're thinking she'll have a few bucks left over, so we asked her where the rest might be spent. "(A) possible bike ride pub crawl in the near future for me and a couple friends," she said. "And maybe (a) pedicure at one of the local salons. I've been wanting to try the new salon that just opened on Biddle recently (3152 Studio). I'm so excited!" Ruddock will document her night out with photos and a short story, which will be posted on our site in the …

9 Little Ducklings Rescued From Wyandotte Alleyway

The critters are believed to be only a couple days old. A wildlife rehabilitator will now care for them.

Tracey Blessing was sitting in her backyard in the 1700 block of Superior on Thursday afternoon when she spotted several tiny fuzzballs. She looked and discovered it was a line of little ducklings. “At first, I said: “Aww. What cute ducklings’ like it’s normal,” she said. “But then I said, ‘That’s not right’ and started looking around.” After calling the city’s animal control officer, Blessing said, she discovered that another resident also had called about the ducklings. They had been put in a cage after their mom never returned for them. But somehow, the critters escaped the cage and were on the loose. After catching the first one, Blessing said, she got some of her neighbors involved, who checked their yards and the nearby alleyway. …
