Damon Bissonnette is believed to be staying with some friends, possibly in the Ecorse area.
A 15-year-old Wyandotte boy has been missing since Monday when he got into an argument with his mother and left the family home, police said. Damon Bissonnette has brown eyes and light brown hair. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 165 pounds. Wyandotte Police Chief Daniel Grant said the boy, who attends Roosevelt High School, is believed to be staying with some friends, possibly in the Ecorse area. A detective has been trying to track the teen through his cell phone as well, Grant said. "There is no foul play ... or criminal activity involved," the chief said. "He appears to have ran away and it doesn’t look like he went to school either." Anyone with information on Damon's whereabouts is asked to call police at 734-324-4405.

The boy, 16, was airlifted to Children’s Hospital of Michigan, where he's listed in good condition.
A 16-year-old Wyandotte boy who was lying on a set of railroad tracks near Vinewood was struck by a train late Friday. The Roosevelt High School sophomore was airlifted to Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Mayor Joseph Peterson said. A hospital spokeswoman said the teen was listed in good condition as of Saturday afternoon. The mayor said police are investigating the matter as a suicide attempt. “The (train) engineer saw the kid laying across the tracks and sounded his horn,” Peterson said. “He was conscious and talking to officers, so that’s a good sign.” School Superintendent Carla Harting said counselors will be on hand when students return to classes on Monday. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time," she …

One of the victims said he wants others to be on the alert to secure their outdoor furniture.
Someone's enjoying some nice porch sitting, but it's not who paid for the comfy seating. Patio furniture was stolen off the front porches of two neighboring houses in the 300 block of Cherry during the daytime Monday. One of the residents who reported the incident said he did so in order for others to be "on the alert or secure their porch furniture better." "I'll be replacing the set with milk crates, so the next time people want to take my stuff, that's what they'll get," he said. Police Chief Daniel Grant said the two incidents are the only cases of furniture thefts reported in recent days. "We'll have to keep our eye out," he said. Anyone with information on the theft is asked to call police at 734-324-4405.

People with outstanding warrants for misdemeanors will be allowed to post a cash bond for half of the original bond set by the judge. Once the bond is posted, a court date will be set. Those who are eligible for the program can come to the court and handle it directly with one of the cashiers. The court is open until 4 p.m. Monday. For more information, call 734-324-4475.

Unwanted prescription drugs can be turned in legally and safely Saturday through a program jointly sponsored by the city of Wyandotte and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., people can drop off expired and/or unused prescription drugs at the Wyandotte Police Department. The service is free and anonymous—no questions asked. The National Take Back Initiative is aimed at preventing pill abuse and theft by ridding homes of potentially dangerous drugs. More than 7 million Americans currently abuse prescription drugs, according to the DEA. About 2,500 teens use prescription drugs each day to get high for the first time, the DEA said. An electrical pole also was torched, but the overhead wires were not damaged.
A Dumpster fire late Saturday damaged the siding of the rear of Midwest Camera Repair. The Fire Department received a call at about 11:20 p.m. “When we got there, the Dumpster was going pretty good and actually caught some of the siding at the rear of the building on fire,” Fire Capt. Mike Brandt said. “When we got there, the flames were probably 8, 10 feet high." The fire was contained to the Dumpster, but the flames also torched a nearby electrical pole. Electric wires were directly over the Dumpster, but power was never lost. A crew from Wyandotte Municipal Services came out to inspect the wires and said everything was fine, Brandt said. While the fire didn’t reach inside the building, there was a slight smoke smell that could be …

A Wyandotte judge dismissed an alleged stalking charge against Jennifer Petkov on Thursday.
An alleged stalking charge against Jennifer Petkov was dismissed Thursday at 27th District Court in Wyandotte. Judge Randy Kalmbach dismissed the charge after the prosecution was unable to prove postings on the popular social media website Facebook came from Petkov. The charge was filed in 2011 and alleged Petkov was stalking her ex-husband's girlfriend on Facebook and YouTube. The girlfriend accused Petkov of posting negative comments on her own Facebook page concerning her, sent her negative messages under the user name "MissMarie HatersCallme," and uploaded, onto the web, videos talking about her between March and June of 2011, according to a motion provided by Petkov's attorney Scott Weinberg. The girlfriend also told the Wyandotte …

The fire in the 900 block of Maple also caused heat damage to neighboring houses.
A young family hoping to move into a house they were renovating in the 900 block of Maple faced a setback early Friday when the structure caught fire and suffered major damage. Firefighters were called to the house at about 3:30 a.m. on reports of a fire under the back porch steps, Fire Chief Jeffery Carley said. The blaze quickly spread into the basement and onto the second floor of the house. No one was at the house at the time of the fire. It had been about a week since the would-be tenants were at the house doing some paint and trim work, Carley said. They had planned to move into the house in about a month. The Downriver Fire Investigation Task Force was called in, but was unable to determine a cause of the fire, Carley said. "We …
