Thirty-two students make up the top 10 percent of the 2012 graduating class in Wyandotte.
The top 10 percent of the 2012 graduating class at Roosevelt High School were honored April 25 at Crystal Gardens in Southgate. Each student was permitted to bring two family members and the educator who has made the largest impact on them during their education. This year marks the 13th annual Superintendent's Dinner and honored students with grade point averages ranging from 3.73 to 4.19. Wyandotte Patch was there and videotaped each student's speech in which they talk about their family and the educator they are honoring. We will bring you each video in the weeks to come. Wyandotte school leader is hosting a coffee and conversation event from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
Thursday is your last chance this school year to attend a coffee and conversation event with Wyandotte school Superintendent Carla Harting. The event is set for 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the Board of Education office. This is Harting’s fourth community-wide meeting since she assumed the superintendent's position July 1. She encourages anyone with an interest in education to stop by for a cup of coffee. "I'll be here to talk about whatever they’re interested in with the school community," Harting said. "Any questions they have about the school district, I will answer, and if I don’t know the answer, I will get the answer."
